Tianli Energy’s Calcium Chloride Dihydrate Granule Project helps accelerate Industry Upgrading.

Recently, the rotary granulator for calcium chloride dihydrate granule, undertaken by Shandong Tianli Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Tianli Energy”), has been successfully installed at a certain company. This project utilizes the existing 25,000 TPA calcium chloride dihydrate flake production area. By dismantling and constructing the new drying process, the production capacity has been successfully increased to 40,000 TPA, and the product has been upgraded to the more economically advantageous calcium chloride dihydrate granule.

Tianli Energy has broken through the limitations of traditional processes and independently developed a one-step granulation technology for high-concentration (69%) calcium chloride solution. This process, through the synergistic effect of spray granulation and drying, can directly produce calcium chloride dihydrate granule. Compared with calcium chloride dihydrate flake produced by traditional slicing processes, the granule produced using this process has advantages such as lower energy consumption per ton of product, longer system operation cycle, better product packaging performance, and higher end-user selling price.

Tianli Energy initiated the research and development of the one-step process for producing  calcium chloride dihydrate granule in 2020. After two years of experimental research, the project team, relying on its own laboratory, completed process simulation, small-scale and pilot-scale verification. Since 2022, the Phase Ⅰ and Phase Ⅱ of the “80,000 TPA calcium chloride dihydrate granule project” have been successfully completed at Shandong Haihua, both achieving full production capacity and standards. The Phase Ⅰ passed the scientific and technological achievement appraisal organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation in September 2023, and was recognized as being at the international leading level among similar facilities. In November 2023, it won the second prize for scientific and technological progress from the China Soda Ash Industry Association for 2021-2023. The innovative one-step process for producing calcium chloride dihydrate granule has achieved significant economic benefits in application, demonstrating broad prospects for industry application.

As another successfully implemented one-step process for producing calcium chloride dihydrate granule in the industry, this process not only demonstrates significant advantages in energy saving, consumption reduction, and product quality improvement, gaining high recognition from customers, but also sets a benchmark for the green transformation and high-quality development of the traditional calcium chloride industry.
