Headed for Africa! Tianli Energy Ships Complete Equipment for Republic of the Congo’s 2 MTPA Potassium Chloride Project

Recently, all complete sets of equipment manufactured by Tianli Energy for the potassium chloride project at the Bougoumasi Potash Mine in the Republic of the Congo, undertaken for a mining enterprise, passed factory acceptance tests and were successfully shipped.

Planned with an annual output of 2 million tons of potassium chloride, the project produces two types of finished products: red granular potash fertilizer and white powdery potash fertilizer. It ranks as Africa’s largest potash mine project (source: China Chemical News Network). The scope of supply from Tianli Energy covers the drying system for powdery potash fertilizer, drying system for granular potash fertilizer, polishing system for granular potash fertilizer, and coating system for granular potash fertilizer. Each single production line of the project boasts a processing capacity of 1 million tons per year, setting a new global record for the single-unit capacity of potassium chloride drying systems, with its technical complexity and equipment scale leading the industry. Upon completion, the project will put an end to the Republic of the Congo’s decades-long absence of large-scale potash fertilizer mass production, while also bolstering the stable supply of potash fertilizer to China and strengthening China’s bargaining power in the international potash fertilizer market.

Potash drying serves as a core link in potassium chloride production, directly determining product quality and production efficiency. Conventional potash production facilities suffer from widespread drawbacks including low throughput, complicated process flows, poor drying efficiency, high energy consumption per tonne of product, and heavy maintenance workload. With over 30 years of intensive research and development in energy-saving and environment-friendly drying technologies, Tianli Energy holds the vice-chairman unit position of the Potash & Potassium Fertilizer Branch under the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association.
