Tianli Energy Won the "Second Prize of Qinghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2024"

On May 20th, the 2024 Qinghai Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Xining. The scientific and technological achievement "Establishment of a Technology System for the Utilization of Salt Lake Brine Resources for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and a 10,000-ton Industry Demonstration" led by Shandong Tianli Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Tianli Energy) won the second prize of the 2024 Qinghai Science and Technology Progress Award. This is also Tianli Energy's 10th provincial science and technology progress award.

The project successfully solved three core key technical problems through basic theoretical mechanism research and key process technology innovation, and built a complete technology system for preparing anhydrous magnesium chloride from salt lake brine. On the original basis, it built the world's only production line with the production capacity of ≥6 tons/hour, achieving long-term stable operation of the production line, and the anhydrous magnesium chloride reached excellent product indicators, with the technological achievements reaching the international leading level.

The project takes solving the common key technologies of preparing anhydrous magnesium chloride from salt lake brine as a breakthrough point, realizes the establishment of a salt lake brine resource utilization technology system for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, fills the theoretical gap in the field of dehydration technology for preparing anhydrous magnesium chloride from salt lake brine in China, promotes scientific and technological progress in the field of salt lake chemical industry, and provides a reference for the comprehensive development and environmental protection of plateau salt lake resources, which account for 40% of the world's salt lake magnesium resources.
